Bachelor of Pharmacy or B Pharm (also known as B Pharma) course is a four-year undergraduate programme offered in colleges conducting undergraduate degree and diploma courses in pharmacy. In this course, students are imparted comprehensive knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry, which largely deals with the development, production and marketing of drugs/medicines. It is closely related to medical science.
The pharmaceutical industry in India opens up wide range of career opportunities for the young aspirants. After doing B Pharm course, one can build a career in hospital pharmacy, by working as hospital pharmacists. After pursuing B Pharm course, one can also go into the field of pharmaceutical consulting, education and academia, industrial pharmacy, medical publishing or research and development in pharmaceutical industry.

M. Pharm

Master of Pharmacy (M Pharm) is a post-graduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. Since pharmaceutical industry is growing at a rapid pace, more and more colleges are coming up as standalone institutes for higher education in the field of pharmacy.
M Pharm course in India is offered as post graduate course after completion of B Pharma degree.The M Pharm course is usually of two years duration. D. Pharm

Diploma in Pharmacy, popularly known as D. Pharm or D. Pharma, is a two-year undergraduate diploma course offered by pharmacy colleges in India. The course is the minimum qualification to become a registered pharmacist in the country. Candidates having passed 10+2 exam or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology can eligible to pursue D. Pharm.

  • Pharma doesn’t provide specialization to choose from; only the basic concepts of pharmaceutical science are taught in this course. After successfully completing two years of D. Pharma and after registering with Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) or the state Pharmacy Council, one can set up his/her own pharmacy/chemist, in order to stock and sell medicines and dispense them according to a registered medical practitioner’s prescription. One can also become medical representative after pursuing the course.
